마치 내일이 없는 것처럼
마음의 기억보다 육체의 기억이 강한 우리는
자연지능에게 희생된 불쌍한 개체라네
아무리 애를 써도 육체의 기억은 승리하지
모든 종교는 마음의 편을 들기 위해 생겨나고
육체와 싸우기 시작하면서 함정에 빠지고 만다네
자궁 속에서 열 달을 기다리고 기다리는 동안
세포 속에 수백만 년 압축된 프로그램이 설치되고
육체는 생존을 위해 프로그램을 쉼 없이 돌리지
그러나 우리는 고독에 우는 불쌍한 개체
밴댕이같이 속 좁아 남의 말에 상처받고
벽창호처럼 꽉 막혀 세상과 담쌓기 일쑤라네
자아라는 거울을 가진 우리는 자연계의 이단아
마음은 우주의 엔트로피에 역행하는 부조리라네
인간성을 유지하던 고대의 ‘신’은 사라지고
인간성을 말살하는 미래의 ‘신’이 기다리네
강렬하고 아름다운 육체의 기억을 무기 삼아
세포마다 심어 논 유전자의 힘으로 살아간다네
그대여, 미칠 듯이 사랑하고 또 사랑할지어다.
마치 내일이 없는 것처럼, 지구가 사라질 것처럼.
Stronger than memory of the mind
is memory of the flesh—
we, poor creatures,
sacrificed to nature’s intelligence.

the body always wins.
All religions were born
to defend the mind,

to battle the flesh,
they fell into their own traps.

within the womb we wait—

are written into our cells.

we cry from loneliness—
sensitive as anchovies,

stubborn as oxen,
sealing ourselves off from the world.
We, the only ones
to possess the mirror of self,
are heretics of the natural order.
The mind—
a beautiful absurdity
rising against the entropy of the universe.
The ancient gods
who preserved our humanity
have vanished.
New gods await—
engineered to erase it.
Armed with the fierce,
beautiful memory of the flesh,
we live by the genes
etched deep into every cell.
So love—
madly, wildly, again and again.
As if there were no tomorrow.
As if Earth herself would disappear.
